Senior Service Network Service Locations. The dataset contains locations and attributes of select Office of Aging listed services, created as part of the DC Geographic Information System (DC GIS) for the D.C. Office of the Chief Technology Officer (OCTO) and participating D.C. government agencies.
The DC Office on Aging (DCOA) website and Senior Service Directory identified aging service locations and DC GIS staff geo-processed the data. Services include adult day care, adult education, advocacy, case management, group housing, job training, group meals, health care support, legal assistance, recreation, transportation, and wellness.
All DC GIS data is stored and exported in Maryland State Plane coordinates NAD 83 meters.
METADATA CONTENT IS IN PROCESS OF VALIDATION AND SUBJECT TO CHANGE.
Purpose:
This data is used for the planning and management of Washington, D.C. by local government agencies.

Process_Description:
Originally, the group meal, wellness, senior center, and senior transportation program features were captured as separate layers. Staff merged these layers with the existing miscellaneous aging service layer to consolidate datasets. Then, the layer was updated using information culled from the the Office of Aging's Senior Service Network Telephone Directory and wesbite. The points were geolocated visually based on the Master Address Repository (MAR) with staff locating the point on top of the one with the correct address. Locations were inferred where the address base information was incomplete.
