Commission of Fine Arts Jurisdiction Listing of Property Squares

Commission of Fine Arts Jurisdiction document was identified as better, more comprehensive boundary description.
Located and flagged all Property Squares identified in CFA document. Some involved partial property squares. Where possible, individual parcels were digitized from Tax Map scans. Linework was validated against existing Planimetric street centerlines, Road Boundaries, and Property Tax Map image scans (parcel boundaries).
Not all Property Squares could be matched between the CFA document and the Squares spatial dataset. The reason for this was twofold:
1) The CFA Jurisdiction document obtained its squares and property data from the old hardcopy Baist Real Estate Atlas of DC (Copyright 1959). Some of those squares / properties either no longer exist or have changed.
2) The Property Squares spatial dataset is incomplete and is still in development.

DCOP staff obtained an updated version of the Commission of Fine Arts Jurisdiction document (dated September 01, 2005). In the meantime, DCOP had obtained vectorized Taxlot and Recordlot boundaries.
Each entry in the CFA Jurisdiction document was validated against the new DRAFT Taxlot boundaries dataset and adjusted as necessary. Where property Squares had not yet been digitized, the old Property Squares dataset was used.
