Abstract:

UFA managed trees and tree locations. The dataset contains locations and attributes of Trees, created as part of the District of Columbia, Department of Transportation (DDOT) Street Spatial Database (SSD).
A database provided by the District of Columbia, Department of Transportation identified StreetSegment locations.
All DC GIS data is stored and exported in Maryland State Plane coordinates NAD 83 meters.
METADATA CONTENT IS IN PROCESS OF VALIDATION AND SUBJECT TO CHANGE.

Purpose:

This data is used for the management of District trees, as well as the maintenance of Reference Features of the District of Columbia, Department of Transportation (DDOT).

Supplemental_Information:

The present dataset represents a composite of legacy data as was available to the DDOT/Urban Forestry Administration in early 2006 as well as ongoing updates that have occurred since then. Early data was comprised of various sources, including a Casey Trees Foundation inventory of 2002 and the UFA database of that period, MISTRE (Management Inventory for Street Trees).

These assets are located with reference to surrounding infrastruction, i.e., buildings, poles, streets. Their positional accuracy is believed to be within 15 feet of their true location. A recreational grade GPS receiver was used to verify general location but was not employed to assign latitude and longitude.
