DC Reservations
THIS IS A GENERAL LAYER FOR REFERENCE. FOR MORE TIMELY AND ACCURATE INFORMATION, GO TO THE RESERVATION LAYER UNDER VECTOR PROPERTY MAP (LAYER IS STILL UNDER CONSTRUCTION BUT WILL BE COMPLETED BY LATE SPRING)
The Public Reservations of the District of Columbia are a collection of 974 properties originally owned by the Federal Government which have since been either transferred to a DC Govenrment entity (DPR, DDOT, DCPS, etc.) or remain under Federal jurisdiction (managed by NPS).
This dataset is a consolidated collection of all known DC Reservations. The primary data source for this dataset is the Reservations List, The Parks of the National Park System, Washington DC, published by the National Park Service (NPS) in August 2002. Spatial data came from a variety of sources, including the Park Service (NPS), DC Parks and Recreation (DPR), the Office of the Chief Technology Officer (OCTO), and the Office of Tax and Revenue (OTR).
This dataset should be considered DRAFT and is a work in progress.
All DC GIS data is stored and exported in Maryland State Plane coordinates NAD 83 meters.
METADATA CONTENT IS IN PROCESS OF VALIDATION AND SUBJECT TO CHANGE.
Purpose:
This data is used for the planning and management of Washington by local government agencies.
