Civic and Neighborhood Associations . The dataset contains locations and attributes of Civic and Neighborhood Associations , created as part of the DC Geographic Information System (DC GIS) for the D.C. Office of the Chief Technology Officer (OCTO) and participating D.C. government agencies.
This dataset provided by the DC Executive Office of the Mayor contained Civic and Neighborhood Associations.
Associations with varied meeting locations were mapped to the associated ward, ANC, or neighborhood centroid (these are locations with no address).
All DC GIS data is stored and exported in Maryland State Plane coordinates NAD 83 meters.
METADATA CONTENT IS IN PROCESS OF VALIDATION AND SUBJECT TO CHANGE.
Purpose:
This data is used for the planning and management of Washington, D.C. by local government agencies.
Supplemental_Information:
Civic and Neighborhood Associations are important to protecting and improving the quality of life in District neighborhoods. These groups of active residents volunteer their time and concern to address important neighborhood issues like crime, neighborhood maintenance, zoning, planning, beautification, and service delivery. They are not only assets to their residents, but to all District citizens and our effort to make government work.
