The video conference collaborator, including microphones, camera, and a 60-inch plasma screen, uses video to let students and teachers connect and collaborate with others anywhere in the world. Students in different schools, cities, and states can conduct debates, attend each other’s class presentations, and collaborate on common projects like Science Fair entries. They can share ideas with fellow students in Brussels, Buenos Aires, Beijing, or Botswana. Teachers in different schools can team-teach a lesson or attend professional development courses and conferences all over the country. Guest lecturers can visit the classroom from across the globe. Students can ask questions no matter where the teacher is—across the city or across the globe. Through virtual field trips, students can enter the world they are studying--like a cathedral in Europe, a laboratory in India, a savannah in Africa, or a galaxy hundreds of light years away. A broad library of virtual field trips is already available for teachers to choose from.
